PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst powder excellent in activity and heat resistance.SOLUTION: There is prepared a slurry which contains 10 to 30 mass% of a Ce-containing composite oxide powder having a D50 of 100 to 300 nm as a solid content and 2 to 20 mass% of a dispersant based on the solid content. The particle diameter of beads is adjusted at 0.015 to 0.05 mm, the introduction energy amount per solid content unit mass and per hour for pulverization is adjusted at 0.5 to 4.0 kw/dry.kg or less and the Ce-containing composite oxide powder in the slurry is pulverized by a beads mill.
