PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more practical methods for detecting target nucleotides.SOLUTION: The detection method comprises the steps of: preparing an array provided on a solid phase support with multiple areas of immobilized oligonucleotide probes for the target polynucleotide determined in advance; carrying out hybridization between the oligonucleotide probes on the array and a test sample; attaching a detection signal visible to naked eye to the double stranded hybridization products; and detecting the target polynucleotide on the basis of detection signals. Hybridization is carried out in a solution of 1 ml or less per array.
