METHOD FOR AN INTER RADIO ACCESS TECHNOLOGY HANDOVER WITH INCOMPLETE CAPABILITY INFORMATION OF THE USER TERMINAL

Methods and apparatuses for inter radio access technology handover of a communication device with certain capabilities are disclosed. Capability information for the communication device is communicated from the device to a source system, the capability information being incomplete capability information comprising information of a predefined minimum of capabilities. The incomplete capability information is communicated to a target access system. The target access system is also informed that it is provided with incomplete capability information. The target access system can then determine if there is a need for more capability information in response to information that the received capability information is incomplete, and can send a request for capability information to the communication device.
