PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable that suppresses protrusion of tension members and has excellent branching workability, and a method for branching the optical fiber cable.SOLUTION: A coated optical fiber 7, tension members 9, and a supporting wire 15 are integrated by an outer housing 3. Both sides of the coated optical fiber 7 are provided with a pair of the tension members 9. The tension members 9 comprise tensile strength bodies 12, adhesive layers 14, resin adhesion layers 13, and the likes. The tension members 9 bear the tension of an optical fiber cable 1. The tension members 9 are disposed so as to come in contact with both juxtaposed ends of the coated optical fiber 7. |
