PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To issue a warning in advance when a one-dimensional code cannot be printed with predetermined quality or higher quality in a printer designated to output it.SOLUTION: A storage unit 24 stores output characteristic information which is information on output characteristics of an image in a printer 1 designated as an output device. On the basis of a print job received by a print job receiving unit 21, a print data generation unit 22 generates print data. A bar-code detection unit 23 detects existence of a bar-code image from the print data. A determination unit 25 refers to the output characteristic information stored in the storage unit 24 when the bar-code detection unit 23 detects the bar-code image from the print data, and determines whether the detected bar-code image can be printed by the printer 1 with predetermined quality or higher quality. A warning unit 26 which issues a warning upon detection that the detected bar-code cannot be printed with predetermined quality or higher quality.
