PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a styrene-modified ethylene-based pre-expanded particle which has sufficient foaming power even in foaming with carbon dioxide and provides a molding having inflammability suitable as an automobile interior material.SOLUTION: A styrene-modified polyethylene-based pre-expanded particle is obtained by impregnating 100 pts.wt. of a polyethylene-based resin with 120-500 pts.wt. of a styrene-based monomer and polymerizing, and the polyethylene-based resin is a branched low-density polyethylene. The styrene-modified polyethylene-based pre-expanded particle has a content of volatile ingredients of 1% or lower, a weight average molecular weight of the tetrahydrofuran soluble of 150,000-350,000, a content of the hot xylene insoluble of 5-20 wt.% and a content of the methyl ethyl ketone soluble ingredients of 50 wt.% or lower. |
