The purpose of the present invention is to provide a portable terminal that is provided with an excellent battery mounting structure. A portable terminal (90) is provided with: a display section (20); and a housing (80) having a battery (60) mounted therein in an attitude wherein the battery is tilted with respect to a display screen (20a) of the display section (20) such that a first end portion (60a) of the battery (60) is close to a plane that includes the display screen (20a), and a second end portion (60b) of the battery (60) is far from the plane. An opening (80a) in which the first end portion (60a) is disposed is formed in the housing (80). The battery (60) is mounted in the tilted attitude such that the first end portion (60a) is close to the plane that includes the display screen (20a), and the first end portion (60a) is disposed in the opening (80a) of the housing (80), thereby achieving thickness reduction of the portable terminal (90).
