PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a stent delivery system capable of preventing breakage of a flexible self expansion type stent and a stent delivery system (especially, an inner shaft) at crimping.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a stent delivery system which comprises an outer shaft, a stent 201 arranged coaxially in the outer shaft, an inner shaft arranged coaxially in the stent, and a projection part 106 formed on a part of the inner shaft, includes the steps of: (1) reducing a diameter of the stent on the projection on the inner shaft; (2) making a distal end 502 of a quill 501 contact to a distal end of the inner shaft or the distal end of the stent; and (3) pressing the quill in axial direction to simultaneously insert the stent and the inner shaft into the outer shaft. In the method, a quill having a hollow structure portion extending from a distal end to a proximal side in axial direction is used as the quill. |
