PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the user from instructing switch of communication modes at inappropriate timing in a communication device comprising a plurality of communication modes and capable of switching between the communication modes in accordance with an instruction by the user.SOLUTION: There is provided a communication device configured to perform communications with a communication terminal and a method of controlling the same. The communication device comprises: first wireless communication means for performing wireless communications with the communication terminal in a first wireless communication mode; and second wireless communication means for performing wireless communications with the communication terminal in a second wireless communication mode using one of the communication device and the communication terminal as an access point. The communication device determines, upon receipt of a request for switch of communication modes from the user, whether the communication modes can be switched, requests an additional instruction to the user when it is determined that the communication modes cannot be switched, and controls switch of communication modes performed by mode switching means for switching communication modes in accordance with the additional instruction in response to the request. |
