PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good read image by a simple configuration, in a wide reading device.SOLUTION: When a halftone dot is detected from an overlapped part of first image data D1 and second image data D2 that are respectively generated at the time when a manuscript MN is read out by image sensors 31 and 32 arranged so as to be overlapped with each other in a sub-scanning direction, a cycle T of the halftone dot is detected. Weighting coefficients G1 and G2 are calculated as functions of the cycle T of the halftone dot. The weighting coefficients G1 and G2 are multiplied by the overlapped part of the first image data D1 and the second image data D2 respectively, and then, added while lining up pixel positions, and thereby, appropriate joint correction processing depending on the cycle T of the halftone dot can be performed, from gradual joint correction processing to steep-switching joint correction processing. |
