PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lipase inhibitor, anα-glucosidase inhibitor, or an anti-inflammatory agent which contains extract or purified product of Eriobotrya japonica leaves or Eriobotrya japonica tea as an active ingredient.SOLUTION: A method for production of a lipase inhibitor, anα-glucosidase inhibitor, or an anti-inflammatory agent comprises (a) a process of subjecting Nejime Biwa Tea to hot water extraction to obtain an extract which is a concentrate or dry powders, (b) a process of subjecting the hot water extract of process (a) to column chromatography to obtain a fraction by extraction with a mixed solution which contains ethanol solution of 30%-70% or water and acetone in a ratio of 1:1.
