PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component with a micro cooling laser deposited material layer and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method. The manufacturing method includes a step of applying a laser deposited material to an outer surface of a substrate by using a laser deposition process to form one or more grooves in the outer surface of the substrate. Each groove has a base and an opening and extends at least partially along the outer surface of the substrate, wherein the substrate has an inner surface defining at least one hollow interior space. The manufacturing method further includes a step of depositing an additional material covering the laser deposited material to define one or more channels for cooling a component. The additional material may include an additional laser deposited material layer or coating. There are also provided other manufacturing method and component.
