PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less expensive disposable syringe capable of preventing unauthorized use other than those duly intended.SOLUTION: A syringe assembly 10 includes a syringe barrel 20 which has an inside surface 25 defining a chamber 26 and an outlet 11. A plunger assembly 30 is disposed within the syringe barrel, the plunger assembly 30 including: an elongate plunger rod 31 having a distal end surface 322; a plunger head 32 having a distal sealing surface 33 and a proximal end surface 321 with a continuous outer periphery; and a fragile neck portion 37 integrally coupling the plunger rod and the plunger head. A flange lock 21 is disposed on an inner surface of the syringe barrel to define an engagement surface with respect to an outer periphery of the chamber. The flange lock engages the plunger head in a locking position within the chamber so as to retain the plunger head. The engagement surface of the flange lock engages the continuous outer periphery of the proximal end surface of the plunger head in an outer periphery engagement state when the plunger head is in the fixing position. |
