The technical result relates to the mechanical treatment of wood, in particular to planers and to a manual electric instrument for planing wood. The technical result is a reduction in the power expendable on the treatment of wood. The above-mentioned technical result is produced by an electric plane which is characterized in that it comprises a body and a drive rotor which is mounted in the body and has at least two cutters which are secured therein and have cutting edges which are offset in relation to each other along the length of the rotor. The cutting edges of the cutters are in the form of combs having right-angled teeth, between which recesses are formed, and, in a projection onto the frontal plane, each comb of one cutter is arranged in the contour of the recess of the second cutter. The cutter of the electric plane comprises a base and a cutting edge, wherein the cutting edge is in the form of a comb having right-angled teeth, between which recesses are formed.
