<p>The present technique relates to an encoding device, an encoding method, a decoding device, and a decoding method whereby the encoding efficiency of a parallax image can be improved using information relating to the parallax image. A correction part uses information relating to a parallax image of a reference viewpoint to correct an estimated image of the parallax image of the reference viewpoint. A calculation part uses the corrected estimated image to encode the parallax image of the reference viewpoint. The encoded parallax image of the reference viewpoint and the information relating to the parallax image of the reference viewpoint are transmitted.
