<p>A curved stick 2, a plate 3a and a treadle 4a are used to compress waste. Ideally the plate is rigidly connected to one end of the stick and the treadle is rigidly connected to the other. The curve between can be an inverted U shape so that the connected ends of the stick both point down, one into a wheelie bin 5b and one outside it. The plate 3a could include finger portions 3a to spread the pressure on the waste over a larger area. The treadle could be a foot pedal or merely a bent tube. The plate could be annular or square. The plate, the fingers, the treadle and the stick could be steel, aluminium or plastic. The treadle could be 25-30cm above ground.</p> |
