A stent (100) comprises a hollow metal wire cylindrical body (110) and first (120-123) and second (130-132) locking parts protruding outwardly from the body. Apparatus 200 for manufacturing a stent comprises a support part 210 having a cylindrical body adapted for forming the stent and has fastening openings 211 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the body, support pins 220 adapted to be inserted into the fastening openings 211 to support the metal wire forming the stent in use, so that the metal wire is bent in a zig-zag configuration on the surface of the support part, and locking part-forming pins 230, each locking part-forming pin having at least one fixing groove formed around the outer peripheral surface thereof. Alternatively, apparatus for manufacturing a stent comprises a support part 210 having a cylindrical body adapted for forming the stent and having fastening openings 211 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the body, and support pins 220 adapted to be inserted into the fastening openings in such a manner as to protrude from the outer peripheral surface of the support part, each support pin having at least one fixing groove formed around the outer peripheral surface thereof. Methods of manufacturing stents are also disclosed and claimed. |
