The present invention relates to a wristband closure (1) for providing a tamper-proof closure for a wrist- band (8), wherein the wristband closure comprises: - a base body for holding a part, preferably an end part, of the wristband; - a closing body for closing the wristband by means of receiving a further part of the wristband between the base body and the closing body; - a closing assembly for providing a closure between the base body and the closing body on one side of the wristband closure; - a hinge assembly for providing a pivotable connection between the base body and the closing part on an opposite side.
