The present invention relates to a method for dispensing compressed gas using at least three dispensing protocols. The selected dispensing protocol depends on an average dispensing rate by time. For example, compressed gas is transported from multiple supplying containers such as a tube trailer to multiple storage containers, and the gas is dispensed from the multiple storage containers to multiple accommodating containers. The supplying container which provides the compressed gas is determined by the pressure of the compressed gas inside the supplying container and the average dispensing rate by time, which is expected during a certain period.
