<p>The furniture panel comprises a polymeric foam layer 2 sandwiched between outer layers 3, 4, preferably via intermediate layer 5 comprising plastic sheet or phenolic or melamine resin impregnated Kraft paper. The preferred foam 2 comprises polystyrene (PS), polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PU), phenolic resin, melamine resin, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP) or polyisocyanurate, having bulk density = 10-200kg/m3. The preferred outer layers are high pressure laminates. The layers are affixed to each other, preferably by means of PU, epoxy, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVAc), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or neoprene adhesive. A method of making the furniture panel is also claimed. The furniture might be a kitchen worktop.</p> |
