The box (3) has a housing (5) accommodating an electrical motor that is connected with contacts and power supply terminals. An electrical contacting unit connects the terminals to the contacts according to predetermined power functions. A cover (6) is fitted to the housing in different orientations. The contacting unit is provided in two or more fixed contacting configurations for the power functions. The orientations of the cover are alternately assigned such that a process of fitting the cover determines which of the power functions is to be selected. The power functions are functions for operating a three-phase motor in star and delta connections. An independent claim is also included for a three-phase motor.
