Disclosed is a driving method for reducing the current collapse of a power device. The disclosed driving method relates to a method for reducing current collapse generated by electrons trapped in a current supply layer when a turn-off state is changed into a turn-on state. A separate control voltage is applied to a control electrode electrically separated from a source electrode, a drain electrode, and a gate electrode. The control voltage applying step includes a step of applying a threshold voltage to the gate electrode; and a step of applying a negative voltage to the control electrode and extracting the trapped electrons. The negative voltage is applied before the threshold voltage is applied.
