The present invention relates to a vertical type wire stripping machine capable of stripping an electric wire covered with insulation. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vertical type wire stripping machine may comprise: a wire insertion part formed with an insertion hole for inserting the wire vertically by gravity; a gripper for fixing the wire inserted to the insertion hole of the wire insertion part; a blade for stripping the electric wire covered with insulation; a centralizer for fixing the position of the wire when the blade is stripping the electric wire covered with insulation; a rotor cam to which the blade and the centralizer are coupled and fixed in the upper part and which strips the electric wire covered with insulation by rotating the blade with a rotation motion; a cap formed in a disk-shaped with a constant thickness and fixedly coupled to the upper part of the rotor cam; and a control unit to strip the electric wire covered with insulation by the preset thickness by controlling the rotation of the rotor cam.
