The crane (1) has a horizontally movable sling part (14) moved and supported relative to a loading frame for gripping a seated container (2). The loading frame is moved at a level above the container and below a contact wire (5) of an overhead contact line system between a passage position and first and second loading positions in which the sling part is moved between the first loading position on the railway track and the second loading position centrally beneath the offloading portal, where the crane is unobstructed by passing a freight train part at the passage position.
