The present invention relates to a parking management device and a method thereof which grasps a parking position by tracing a vehicle using a plurality of cameras for photographing a designated section. The parking management device comprises; a vehicle number recognizing unit which recognizes a vehicle number from image data recorded by a first camera; a data collecting unit which collects image data recorded by a plurality of second cameras which is separately installed to photograph a setting area; a control unit which grasps a vehicle parking position by tracing the movement of the vehicle corresponding to the vehicle number recognized in the vehicle number recognizing unit based on the image data which is collected by the data collecting unit; and a storage unit which stores the vehicle parking position grasped in the control unit and recognition information recognized in the vehicle number recognizing unit. Therefore, the parking management device can perform parking management efficiently.
