Disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a water injecting valve of a cooling apparatus and a method thereof. The apparatus for controlling a water injecting valve of a cooling apparatus includes an entry detection unit which detects an entering state of a rear plate; a water meter for measuring the amount of injected water sprayed by the water injecting valve in which the amount of injected water is controlled according to an indicated water injection signal; and a control unit which calculates the actual amount of water injected to the rear plate based on the amount of injected water measured by the water meter and the entering state of the rear plate detected by the entry detection unit, and calculates the difference between the indicated amount of injected water according to the indicated water injection signal and the actual amount of injected water to adjust the indicated water injection signal according to occurrence of an error.
