PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of early activating a catalyst of the internal combustion engine in cold start.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 having a plurality of cylinders includes: a first fuel injection valve 17 for injecting fuel to respective combustion chambers 6 in the internal combustion engine 1; a second fuel injection valve 18 for injecting the fuel to respective intake passages Ri; an ignition plug 29 for igniting the fuel; a catalyst 15 for purifying exhaust air in an exhaust passage Re; and catalyst temperature rise control means A3 for increasing temperature of the catalyst 15 by delay control of ignition time of the ignition plug. The catalyst temperature rise control means A3 includes a first temperature rise mode M1 for setting an injection period of the first fuel injection valve as a compression step and setting an injection period of the second fuel injection valve as an exhaust step to perform fuel injection and a second temperature rise mode M2 for setting the injection period of the first fuel injection valve as a compression step after the fist temperature rise mode and setting the injection period of the second fuel injection valve as an intake step. |
