A method for incorporating a smart home appliance (20) into a smart home system (10), an appropriate smart home appliance (20), an appropriate central control unit (40) and an appropriate smart home system (10) are described. The method comprises the steps of providing a data storage medium (30) which is associated with the smart home appliance (20) and which stores setup data for incorporating the smart home appliance (20) into the smart home system (10), of reading the setup data stored on the data storage medium (30) using the central control unit (40) of the smart home system (10) and of forming a communication channel between the smart home appliance (20) and the central control unit (40) on the basis of the setup data. Preferably, the data storage medium is a chip card or an RFID tag which are able to be read on a contact basis and/or contactlessly by the central control unit (40). |
