Synchronous display on the reception side is secured when transmitting a plurality of video streams, which respectively include a plurality of image data sets to be synchronously displayed, as separate broadcast streams. From a transmission side, a stream with a predetermined container format which has a first video stream including first image data is transmitted. Stream synchronization information is inserted into the first video stream. The stream synchronization information is for synchronizing the first video stream with a second video stream, which includes second image data displayed in synchronization with the first image data, frame by frame. On a reception side, it is possible to synchronize the first video stream with the second video stream frame by frame on the basis of stream synchronization information. |
