<p>An article of clothing such as a mitten 5 includes a band 10 around the opening. The band 10 is provided with a first part of a two-part fastening device such as a zip, hook-and-loop material, stud fasteners or magnets. An attachment strap 15 is provided with the second part of the two-part fastening device. In use, the mitten 5 is put on the hand and the attachment strap 15 is looped tightly around the wrist of the wearer so that it cannot be pulled off. The two parts are then fastened together to secure the mitten 5 onto the wearer which may be useful for a child who is averse to wearing mittens 5. The band 10 and attachment strap 15 may be linked by a connecting strap 20 to prevent loss of the attachment strap 15 when it is not in use. Embodiments of the invention may also be used to secure gloves, socks, slippers, shoes and other garments for the extremities.</p> |
