1. A hermetic feedthrough for an implantable medical device, comprising:
a sheet having a hole, wherein the sheet comprises a first material that is a ceramic comprising alumina; and a second material substantially filling the hole, wherein the second material is different than the first material and comprises platinum and an additive, and wherein the additive comprises alumina; wherein the first and second materials have a co-fired bond therebetween that hermetically seals the hole; and wherein the second material is a sintered material that includes at least one of SiO2, MgO, or CaO that has a concentration gradient that decreases moving in a direction inward into the hole from the first material of the sheet. |
