A nitrogen-containing condensed ring compound having a structural unit represented by the following formula (1-1) or a structural unit represented by the following formula (1-2): wherein, in the formulae (1-1) and (1-2), Ar1 represents an aromatic ring containing 4 or more carbon atoms and optionally having a substituent, one of Y1 and Y2 represents a single bond, and the other represents a group represented by —C(R11)(R12)— or a group represented by —C(═X1)—; one of Y3 and Y4 represents a single bond, and the other represents a group represented by —C(R21)(R22)— or a group represented by —C(═X2)—, wherein R11, R12, R21 and R22 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a monovalent group containing an alkane skeleton, or a cyano group, and at least one of Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4 is a group represented by —C(R11)(R12)— or a group represented by —C(R21)(R22)—, wherein at least one of R11 and R12 and/or at least one of R21 and R22 are/is a monovalent group containing an alkane skeleton, and X1 and X2 each independently represent an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or a group represented by ═C(A)2, wherein A represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a monovalent group, and a plurality of A may be identical to or different from each other, W1 and W2 each independently represent a group represented by —C(R00)— or a group represented by N, and at least one of W1 and W2 is a group represented by N, and R00 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a monovalent group, and Z1 and Z2 each independently represent a group represented by the formula (i), a group represented by the formula (ii), a group represented by the formula (iii), a group represented by the formula (iv), a group represented by the formula (v), a group represented by the formula (vi), a group represented by the formula (vii), a group represented by the formula (viii), or a group represented by the formula (ix), wherein the group represented by the formula (vii) and the group represented by the formula (viii) may be flipped horizontally, wherein, in the formula (vii), the formula (viii) and the formula (ix), R3, R4, R5 and R6 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a monovalent group, and R3 and R4 may bind to each other to form a ring together with carbon atoms to which they bind. |
