One method described comprises receiving at least one request for a web page associated with an inactive URL, providing a first web page comprising at least one of a search field and a suggested search query in response to the at least one request, receiving at least one search query, receiving another request for a web page associated with the inactive URL, selecting content based at least in part on the at least one search query, and providing a second web page comprising the content in response to the another request.

1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving, from a client device over a network, a first request that contains an inactive URL; providing in response to receiving the first request, a first web page comprising at least one of a search field and a suggested search query; receiving a search query associated with the first web page, wherein receiving the search query comprises at least one of a) receiving a query entered in the search field or b) receiving a user-selection of the suggested search query; receiving a second request that requests a page using the inactive URL; selecting content to provide in response to the second request based at least in part on the received search query; and providing a second web page comprising the selected content in response to the second request, wherein the inactive URL comprises a parked domain name that redirects a requester to a service that presents a webpage that presents advertising selections that are selected to correspond to keywords associated with the content of the inactive URL, an error domain name that does not correspond to an existing website, or an error page address that that does not correspond to an existing website.
