Solid electrolytical capacitors with improved ESR stability

An improved capacitor, and method for making the capacitor, is described. The capacitor has an anode and a dielectric on the anode. A cathode layer is on the dielectric wherein the cathode layer comprises at least one conductive layer and an insulative adhesion enhancing layer.

1. A method for forming a capacitor comprising:
providing an anode; forming a dielectric on said anode; applying a cathode as a solid electrolyte on said dielectric wherein said cathode comprises an insulative adhesion enhancing layer; and electrically connecting a cathode lead to said cathode wherein said cathode lead is electrically connected to said cathode through said insulative adhesion enhancing layer wherein said insulative adhesion enhancing layer is between said cathode lead and said cathode and is selected from the group of polymers with glass transition temperature below 200° C.
