SEPARATOR AND RECHARGABLE LITHIUM BATTERY INCLUDING THE SEPARATOR

The present invention relates to a separator and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The separator includes a porous material and a coating layer which is located one side or both sides of the porous material. The coating layer includes: (A) a filler whose average diameter is 0.3 to 2 um; and (B) a binder which includes an inorganic particle, an organic particle or a mixture thereof, and an organic polymer. The average diameters of the inorganic particle and the organic particle are 5 to 200 nm.
