PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt control device capable of preventing excessive deviation of a belt occurring in association with the start of the peripheral motion of the belt to adjust the position of the belt; and an image forming apparatus, method, and program.SOLUTION: A belt control device of the present invention determines if a deviation amount of a belt is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold before starting the peripheral motion of the belt, and when the deviation amount of the belt is equal to or more than the predetermined threshold, urges the belt to reduce the deviation amount of the belt before performing feedback control. The belt control device of the present invention starts the feedback control while urging the belt. |
