PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a monitoring device capable of reducing risk of reducing monitoring performance even when a plurality of mobile objects present in the monitoring area.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 1 detects objects by scanning a monitoring area with an area sensor device 2 (an optical distance meter), identifies mobile objects among detected objects, determines whether a tracking cancellation condition is established when a plurality of mobile objects are identified, and expands and fixed-point monitors a priority monitoring area including a priority monitoring object in the monitoring area by a camera device when it is determined that the tracking cancellation condition is established. |
