PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a monitoring device capable of switching a tracking object even when a plurality of mobile objects present in a monitoring area, and defining a mobile object desired by the monitor as the tracking object.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 1 detects objects by scanning a monitoring area with an area sensor device 2 (an optical distance meter), identifies mobile objects among detected objects, defines a mobile object closest to a gateway that is a predetermined prior monitoring object in the monitoring area, as the tracking object, and automatically tracks the mobile object defined as the tracking object by a camera device 3. |
