PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element that is stable and has high reliability and in which deterioration resistance is improved.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 2 has a piezoelectric substance 12, a lower electrode 10, and an upper electrode 11. In the piezoelectric substance 12, electrostriction is caused by an electric field generated between the lower electrode 10 and the upper electrode 11. The upper electrode 11 is connected to wiring 40 via a connection hole 30. An amount of contraction due to electrostriction of a first part 46 of the piezoelectric substance 12 positioned below the connection hole 30 is made to be smaller than an amount of contraction due to electrostriction of a second part of the piezoelectric substance 12 different from the first part 46.
