WATER-SOLUBLE METAL PROCESSING OIL AND COOLANT FOR METAL PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble metal processing oil exhibiting a favorable lubricity not only under a low surface pressure but also under a high surface pressure and capable of inhibiting a grinding scorch and the shortening of a whetstone life; and a coolant for metal processing obtained by diluting the same with water.SOLUTION: The provided water-soluble metal processing oil is obtained by mixing (A) a sulfur-containing polycarboxylic acid and (B) a polyalkylene glycol. Since the water-soluble metal processing oil (undiluted liquid) of the present invention is obtained by mixing a sulfur-containing polycarboxylic acid and a polyalkylene glycol, a coolant for metal processing obtained by diluting the same with water exhibits a favorable lubricity not only under a low surface pressure but also under a high surface pressure and can sufficiently inhibit a grinding scorch and the shortening of a whetstone life.
