PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out route guidance using a landmark existing on a travelling route from an earlier point and with more accuracy.SOLUTION: Image recognition is carried out by imaging and storing imagings in front of a vehicle at prescribed intervals from a point before a guiding intersection by only a prescribed distance L1 m before a guiding intersection, comparing respective imaging images with a landmark standard template for the guiding intersection (branching point) and deeming recognized when a matching ratio P (80%) is exceeded. When the image is recognized at the matching ratio P, the image recognition is carried out at a matching ratio Q (20%) with the imaging images sequentially going back in the past as subject images and having a position farthest away from the guiding intersection be a visualized recognition distance among the imaging positions capable of being recognized by the matching ratio Q. Then, a usual voice guidance by distance and direction is carried out when no visible distance is stored to the intersection landmark information of the guiding intersection (at a first travelling). On the other hand, when the visible distance is stored, a voice guidance using the landmark is carried out when the visible distance is passed from the guiding intersection. |
