PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg that suppresses the flow of a resin and a carbon fiber during the press molding process and can produce a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material without impairing physical properties and appearance in a press molding using a mold having a mold shape with complicated recesses/projections.SOLUTION: The prepreg for press molding is a prepreg produced by impregnating carbon fibers arranged in one direction with a thermosetting resin. The carbon fiber and the thermosetting resin satisfy (A) and (B) as given below: (A) a carbon fiber has a surface roughness Ra in the range of not less than 15 nm to not more than 50 nm as determined by an atomic force microscope and a hook drop value of not more than 10 cm and (B) a thermoplastic resin composition has a minimum viscosity at 100-150°C in the range of not less than 0.5 Pa s to not more than 10 Pa s and a viscosity at 24°C in the range of not less than 10,000 Pa s to not more than 200,000 Pa s. |
