PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that enables an improvement in luminance without increasing a numerical aperture.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has: a signal line 30 that is formed so as to avoid an opening area 44 and pass a non-opening area 46; an organic film 42 that is formed on a first substrate 18 so as to cover the signal line 30; a common electrode 26 that is located at a position away from the signal line 30 via the organic film 42 in the non-opening area 46; an inorganic film 48 that is formed in the opening area 44 and the non-opening area 46; a pixel electrode 24 that is formed in the opening area 44; a first alignment film 50 that is formed so as to cover the inorganic film 48, the organic film 42 and the signal line 30; a second alignment film 60 that is formed on the first substrate 18 so as to face a second substrate 52 and the first alignment 50; and a liquid crystal material 62 that is disposed between the first alignment film 50 and the second alignment film 60. The organic film 42 is formed so that a thickness in the non-opening area 46 is made thicker than that in the opening area 44. |
