PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system for an elevator, which can correspond quickly to the simultaneous requests of telephone calls from a multiplicity of cages without any personnel increase.SOLUTION: A remote monitoring system for an elevator comprises: a power incoming propriety determination device 63 for deciding whether or not a personnel in a monitoring center 60 can correspond to a demand for communications by an interphone 22 in a cage 20; an automatic answering device 64 for outputting, in the case where it is decided that the personnel in the monitoring center 60 cannot correspond to the demand for communications by the interphone 22, automatically a predetermined voice guide containing a question on the situations in the cage 20; a cage control board 21 for generating a signal (or a response signal) suitable for an answer to the inquiry outputted from the interphone 22, on the basis of a predetermined input operation; a remote monitoring device 40 for sending the answer signal to the monitor center 60 via a public line 50; and in the monitor center 60, an elevator information automatic preparation device 65 for preparing information indicating a situation in the cage. |
