PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for electrolyte which can prevent burst into flame under inappropriate use of a battery, by enhancing safety of the electrolyte without affecting the charge and discharge characteristics of a lithium battery, and to provide an electrolyte.SOLUTION: An additive in an electrolyte contains at least an initiator, and an initiator for decomposing and generating a free radical from an electrolyte under high temperature higher than a predetermined temperature is used. In particular, an initiator having a functional group of -N=N- or -O-O- is preferable. The electrolyte is composed to contain at least the additive mentioned above, a carbonic acid ester, and lithium salt. |
