PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent reduction in color characteristics uniformity and toner gloss non-uniformity to be caused during fixation.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: color image forming means for forming a color image with chromatic toner; transparent image forming means for forming a transparent image on the color image by use of transparent toner; and fixing means. The transparent toner and the chromatic toner each contain a mold release agent and a binder resin. The binder resin contains a non-crystalline resin. When a height of a maximum rising peak point in an infrared absorption spectrum of the mold release agent, which is obtained by an infrared spectroscopy (KBr full-transmission method) by means of a fourier transform infrared spectral analyzer, is W, a height of the maximum rising peak point in an infrared absorption spectrum of the non-crystalline resin is R, a ratio W/R for the chromatic toner is Cfc and that for the transparent toner is Ccl, the following expressions are satisfied:(1) 0.05≤Ccl-Cfc≤0.65 and (2) 0.10≤Ccl≤0.80.
