PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for an elevator enabling improvement of convenience during maintenance work while suppressing cost.SOLUTION: An monitoring system for an elevator includes: a monitoring device 5 for detecting an abnormality of the elevator; a monitoring center 6 for remotely monitoring the elevator via the monitoring device 5; a communication terminal 7 carried by a worker who performs maintenance work of the elevator; a maintenance work switch 2 for setting a maintenance work mode of making landing call registration by using a landing call button 3 invalid; a maintenance operation detection part 101 and a landing call registration detection part 102 that detect landing call registration by using the landing call button 3 performed in the maintenance work mode; and a landing call button information part for informing the communication terminal 7 via the monitoring center 6 of landing call button information including input information indicating that the landing call button 3 is pressed and information on a floor on which the landing call button 3 is installed, when the fact that landing call registration using the landing call button 3 has been performed in the maintenance work mode is detected.
