PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image data with a blurred background preferable for a user.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus detects a focal position of a focus lense in a major subject region and detects a focal position of the focal lens in an area different from the major subject region (S402, S403). Next, the imaging apparatus focuses on the major subject region and images first image data (S405, S408). Then, on the basis of a subject distance corresponding to the major subject region and a subject distance corresponding to the area different from the major subject region, second image data is acquired at a focus lens position on a farther side or a nearer side than the focal position of the focus lens of the major subject region (S406, S409). The imaging apparatus then determines on basis of the first image data and the second image data the major subject region and a background region. |
