PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To urge a user to preferentially consume a foodstuff close to a storage time limit to attain optimum utilization of foodstuffs.SOLUTION: A foodstuff management system 1 comprises: a foodstuff management information DB 11 holding foodstuff management information including stored foodstuffs, quantities thereof, and preservation time limits thereof; a foodstuff management information acquisition part 13 for acquiring the foodstuff management information of foodstuffs purchased by a user from purchase food material information inputted to a foodstuff information input part 12; a foodstuff management information registration part for determining a preservation form, that is, chilled, freezed or atmospheric temperature preservation according to the food stuff material management information acquired in the foodstuff management information acquisition part 13, and for registering the food stuff material management information along with the foodstuff preservation forms in the foodstuff management information DB 11; and a foodstuff management part 14 for extracting the foodstuffs close to preservation time limits thereof from the foodstuff management information DB 11 to create a list of the foodstuffs close to their preservation time limits. Preferably, the foodstuff management system may include a scanner 19 reading image information displayed in a receipt, and a decryption part 20 for extracting the preservation time limit of a purchased foodstuff embedded in an image. |
