PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve tappet which prevents the attenuation of dynamic pressure, facilitates the discharge of a lubricant, and can improve fuel economy performance while lowering friction, and an internal combustion engine having the valve tappet.SOLUTION: A lubricant coating 42 is arranged at an external peripheral side face 40a of a valve tappet 40. Two grooves 44, 45 different in inclination angles are formed at the lubricant coating 42. The respective grooves 44, 45 are inclined so as to progress downward of the valve tappet 40 as progressing toward a side opposite to the rotation direction of the valve tappet 40, and acutely inclined to a reference face orthogonal to a center axial X of the valve tappet 40. |
